Coaching Requirements

To coach in the CYC Program the following CYC mandated requirements must be completed before the roster turn-in date. *

Coaching Concepts ID Card

Requirements:  All Soccer Managers 1st Grade and above and all other Managers 3rd Grade and above. You do not need a CYC ID Card if you obtain a Coaching Concepts ID Card. Even though it is not mandated by the CYC,  all coaches are urged to complete the Coaching Concepts program.

All managers are required to complete the program. The program is mandated by the Archdiocese. Managers who do not have an ID number cannot be placed on the CYC roster and will be unable to coach.  There is no grace period.  The ID card must be presented to the official (umpire/referee) before the start of all CYC sanctioned games. More information is available here: Coaching Concepts

For those of you that do not have access to a computer, you can still obtain your card by attending a scheduled ID card session. These sessions will no longer be held at the parishes, but will be scheduled at the CYC Office location.

Requirements

Head Coaches/Managers for Kindergarten thru 8th grade need to attend the CYC Coaches Training Program "Coaching to Make a Positive Difference." They will be issued a CYC Coach's picture ID card with their Coaches ID number after their attendance of this program.

 

Head Coaches/Managers for High School and Adult Divisions do not need to attend the CYC-Sports' Coaches Training Program, but they do need a CYC Photo ID Card.

All Assistant Coaches, in all age groups must have a CYC Photo ID Card, if they have not attended the 'Coaches Training' program.

 

All Players, 3rd grade through Adult, must have a CYC Photo ID Card.

 

Notes:

Please do not arrive before the published starting times. Registration will not start early. Please schedule your plans to arrive during the last hour to avoid waiting in line.
Facilities are in use until the published starting times. Please remain in your car if you arrive early to a session.
Additional (duplicate) CYC Photo ID cards may be purchased at the time of registration.

 

What to Bring

 

Because this is a photo ID, the applicant must be present to have his or her picture taken. All the ID sessions are open to anyone. You will also need to bring one of the following for each applicant, for verification of birth date (the item must have the applicant's correct name and birth date on it):

Birth Certificate (can be a copy)

Baptismal Certificate (can be a copy)

Current or Expired CYC Photo ID Card (cannot be a copy)

Passport (cannot be a copy)

Valid Drivers' Licence (cannot be a copy)

Youth Card Fee: $5.00 Under 18 years of age
Adult Card Fee: $5.00 At least 18 years of age Never Expires

To all who volunteer with children, the Archdiocese and our Parish mandates that these requirements must be completed before the start of your practice schedule. *

Protecting God's Children

The Archdiocese of St. Louis has initiated a sexual-abuse prevention program Entitled "Protecting God's Children".  The program is being provided at no cost to parishes, schools, and archdiocesan agencies. All employees and volunteers who work with children on a regular basis are mandated to attend a presentation of the program.

Missouri Criminal Record Search

Every two years (odd dated) we are required to request a criminal records search. If this is an odd dated year or if you have never previously submitted to a criminal records search, you need to print and complete this form:

A copy of your Social Security Card or Drivers License (if your license number is your SSN) is required along with the Child Abuse Form.
